 Be Great Basketball was founded in 2021 by Coach Samaria Howard, a former Division I standout and professional athlete with a deep passion for developing the next generation of leaders through sport. A 2016 graduate of Tennessee Tech University, Coach Howard went on to play professionally in Europe and Australia, gaining invaluable experience on and off the court.
After her professional career, Coach Howard transitioned into collegiate coaching, holding key positions at Eastern Oklahoma State College, Northwest Florida State College, and Panola College. Her impact has been profound—she’s helped more than 20 student-athletes earn Division I scholarships, a testament to her commitment to excellence, mentorship, and athlete development.

Through Be Great Basketball, Coach Howard provides year-round training, guidance, and exposure for youth athletes who are serious about improving their game and achieving their goals. Her focus goes beyond basketball, fostering confidence, discipline, and leadership skills in every player she works with.
